Utilizing Self-Transcendence in Times of Conflict.

Self-Transcendence opens us up to see more of what is available within!

As a mother, wife, landlord, and spiritual entrepreneur I have plenty of opportunities to dive right into the rabbit hole of ego, on the defense, fight and ask questions later… I know - not very spiritually enlightened of me.

But keeping it real is part of my charm I like to think, charm’s probably not the right word here… maybe my version of the truth is better suited in that we are not always at our best.

In my twenties, I was told by an Italian neighbor “you should start to have children soon you will need all your strength when they're teenagers” well now I have one left in her teens.

I’ve been blessed with amazing girls who know their own minds and treat others how they wish to be seen and treated themselves.

As positive as this is, this can blow back when they come up against adults that should behave better, they don’t really know how to deal with this naturally, and I think a lot of people also struggle with subtle versions of conflict.

It comes as such a shock we drop out of ourselves and our innate resources of who we are and where our truths lay and immediately go to the default mode of fight, fright/flight, or freeze.

As a Mum witnessing my girls come up against conflicts and the following mental and emotional trauma and angst, it takes all of my strength to not jump in, this is their story, not mine.

It’s not my place to come to their defense and fight their battles for them, looking at this from a very low-vibration human aspect, of us v’s them.

My role is to stay out of my own way and theirs as I resonate my own anger to the situation, I’m creating my own storyline on behalf of my girls, and then adding to it with empathic worrying as I see them maneuver slowly through their own unsaid anguish.

It’s time for my own time-out, so I slowly bring myself into a state of self-transcendence where I can meet myself as Source Energy in a place of expansion.

Here I am resourced to see more and effortlessly release all that is blocking me from feeling at ease throughout my body, which is resonating with these real or empathic conflicts.

A version of being that is bigger and other than my person - from a version of myself where I am resourced. I am more than my human traits, as you, me, us, them, hurt anger lack judgment comparison.

I am my spirit self/higher self, the purest form of self as creator energy, source divine light energy talking with my, me, Vicki.

Showing me how to see, feel, and be myself from a space of divine essence that is LIGHT.

We always have access to more!

So expanding our perspectives?

  • We will always see what we want to see

  • There will always be many other perspectives

  • When we’re in our head/mind we’re lost to the ego/storyline

  • Grounded in the body we’re resourced with an inherent wisdom

When we’re met with conflict from another there are always possibilities and alternative perspectives that we do not see!

So it’s all about being able to resist the urge of facing off and giving your opponent the big one-finger salute with a few expletives … I must admit, sometimes, it’s those two little words that start with f and end with off, that really fit the situation best!!!

But instead, to see the situation clearly come back into your body to transition the breath that was once up in your throat to flowing down throughout your body.

This will take a stance with willpower to quieten your ego, judgment, anger, disappointment, and hurt and give it a platform to voice itself!!

  • Speaking it all out in front of a mirror

  • Writing it down on paper and then burning it

  • Walking and speaking it out loud to nature

  • Getting a punching bag and having a good ole go!! (any exercise ;)

Now it’s all out and no one is harmed! it’s about bringing you back into your body and allowing your emotions to settle down from fight mode.

See how self-transcendence helps you to see through perceived conflict by expanding your perspective!

Try this exercise of bringing yourself into a state of self-transcendence whenever you feel you’re a little too quick to jump in reacting to another’s perspective.

  1. Take a seat with your feet resting on the ground

  2. Bring the palms of your hands together in front of your chest
I do this to give me an awareness of where my hands are - when I’m still fuming - I need to feel held so I put them together, quite often it is a tight hold, my chin is down, and I curl up my shoulders and chest around them.

  3. Closing your eyes, chin down to your hands

  4. Feel into the circuit you are creating with your palms together in front of you

  5. Feel your breath coming in through your nose and flowing out your mouth, expansive and slow

  6. Slowly let your body relax down and uncurl itself
By meeting where you’re at, your body/mind will feel acknowledged and released.

  7. Open your arms out placing your palms upward and reposition your head up on top of your shoulders with your eyes resting closed
If you are still not feeling open, bring it all back in and repeat the first 5 steps.

  8. Feeling your breath filling up your bodysuit flowing in and out relaxing you completely

  9. Begin to imagine a field of light surrounding your bodysuit
The more you relax the more space will form between your physical body and this field of light.
The more space you gain is in the direct sense of how you feel in your body, tight and restricted lesser space, open and expansive space.
The more space between you and the light field you have, the more room you have to buffer against outside stimuli because your energetics are taking up more space!

  10. Settle into this space of no spacetime within your body within your light field
Listen to your intuitive essence come through, and tell your story, with the difference now, in that you are speaking from heart space, a complete package of body, mind, heart, light, and source.
Listen to what you are hearing, and what you are seeing in your mind's eye.
So many more perspectives will be shown which will help you to soften your approach to the situation.

This approach is about exercising a different set of muscles, your inherent wisdom, and source energy helping you to notice and experience more of yourself.

Practice this exercise daily and often, change it up, bring it into your nightly and/or morning ritual, add in gratitude… expand on it and make it your own.
